This Fall, our PreK-6 grade students, families, & staff are all reading "Frindle" by Andrew Clements! We'll follow the Family Reading Guide & tackle a chapter or two each day from November 5 through November 20 together. Students can look forward to trivia questions and prizes from each book chapter as well as other fun book-related activities during the school day.
Families, be sure to check your email each evening to receive the accompanying chapter recording for that night!

Northampton County Public Schools would like to remind our families that all schools will be closed for all students on Monday, November 3, and Tuesday, November 4, for teacher work and professional development days.
We will resume a normal, on-time, in-person schedule on Wednesday, November 5.

📝Feedback Requested!
We value our community partnerships! Help us continue to improve by sharing your input in our Stakeholders Survey by November 4.

We don't just hire great teachers - we grow them! 🌱
Our Assisting and Coaching Teachers (ACT) Program is a dynamic, three-year collaborative journey that ensures every new teacher has the support to thrive.
During this past month, our ACT I, II, & III cohorts went deep! They explored educational resources from the Barrier Islands Center and collaborated on essential skills like classroom management, effective family communication, and building strong student relationships. These interactive sessions focused on modeling resources and sharing ideas to build expert, confident educators.
(PS. Our ACT program was recently featured in the REACH Virginia newsletter!)

🎉Congratulations to Maria for taking third place at the Eastern Shore Agricultural Fair earlier this month!
Students had to create a poster that celebrated the faces of agriculture and aquaculture, and Maria's work beat out hundreds of entries from middle schools and home schools throughout Northampton and Accomack counties. Maria made great use of the iterative design process that the students are learning in Computer Solutions class as she created the poster, and clearly succeeded in achieving the project goal.
We are so proud - congratulations, Maria!!

Join our team as an Instructional Assistant! We're looking for passionate individuals to support our students. Enjoy competitive pay, benefits, and family-friendly hours.

Just because the week is over, our shared responsibility for student safety doesn't have to be. Remember: Safety doesn't begin or end with the bus ride. It's about Safety at Every Stop - from the moment a child leaves their front door until they return home.
Let's continue to slow down, stop when the stop arm is out, and watch for our students every day!
