Get ready! Northampton Reads kicks off on Wednesday, November 5!

This Fall, our PreK-6 grade students, families, & staff are all reading "Frindle" by Andrew Clements! We'll follow the Family Reading Guide & tackle a chapter or two each day from November 5 through November 20 together. Students can look forward to trivia questions and prizes from each book chapter as well as other fun book-related activities during the school day.

Families, be sure to check your email each evening to receive the accompanying chapter recording for that night!

We don't just hire great teachers - we grow them! 🌱
Our Assisting and Coaching Teachers (ACT) Program is a dynamic, three-year collaborative journey that ensures every new teacher has the support to thrive.

During this past month, our ACT I, II, & III cohorts went deep! They explored educational resources from the Barrier Islands Center and collaborated on essential skills like classroom management, effective family communication, and building strong student relationships. These interactive sessions focused on modeling resources and sharing ideas to build expert, confident educators.

(PS. Our ACT program was recently featured in the REACH Virginia newsletter!)

The graphic features a silhouette of several people raising their arms behind a large stack of various colorful non-perishable food cans and boxes. The flyer announces the drive for "FALL 2025" with an IN-SCHOOL DROP OFF at KES, OES, NMS & NHS. It specifies the last day to donate is Nov. 12th and notes that 5 Food Items = 1 HR of High School Community Service. The bottom of the flyer says, "Your Donations Matter, Thank You!"

🎉Congratulations to Maria for taking third place at the Eastern Shore Agricultural Fair earlier this month!

Students had to create a poster that celebrated the faces of agriculture and aquaculture, and Maria's work beat out hundreds of entries from middle schools and home schools throughout Northampton and Accomack counties. Maria made great use of the iterative design process that the students are learning in Computer Solutions class as she created the poster, and clearly succeeded in achieving the project goal.

We are so proud - congratulations, Maria!!

As National School Bus Safety Week wraps up, we want to thank our community and drivers for their focus on safety!

Just because the week is over, our shared responsibility for student safety doesn't have to be. Remember: Safety doesn't begin or end with the bus ride. It's about Safety at Every Stop - from the moment a child leaves their front door until they return home.

Let's continue to slow down, stop when the stop arm is out, and watch for our students every day!

We asked our principals the ultimate question: If you could have any superpower for just one school day, what would it be and why?

Their answers prove they're already heroes in our schools, but their dream powers show exactly where they want to focus their energy!⚡
