I am writing to inform you of a situation that has affected our high school today, resulting in the arrest of several students on our campus.
The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office took several students into custody in connection with a fight that took place off school grounds. This law enforcement action was the result of an ongoing investigation. While we respect the role of law enforcement, we want to emphasize that Northampton County Public Schools did not initiate this action. Throughout the process, staff members worked closely with law enforcement and followed all applicable laws and school division policies. This cooperation with law enforcement ensures all our students' safety and well-being.
We understand that events like this may raise questions and concerns. Our commitment remains to protecting the rights and privacy of all students. As a school division, we are bound by federal and state privacy laws and cannot share specific details regarding individual students.
Please know that our top priority is always the safety of every student we serve. We are grateful to the Sheriff’s Office for their efforts to maintain a safe school environment, and we continue to work with all law enforcement agencies in a manner that prioritizes the well-being of our students. Our school counselors and administrators are available to support students as needed, and we are committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all. This commitment to safety is unwavering, and we will continue to do everything we can to maintain it.

Now operating one day a week, this on-site dental clinic provides accessible care to students—removing barriers and ensuring every child has the chance to thrive, starting with their health.
