New Teachers: Welcome to Northampton County Public Schools! We are excited you have joined the NCPS family and look forward to supporting you along your journey.
On behalf of NCPS, I, Robin Ward (Coordinator of Professional Learning), would like to thank the community groups and businesses listed below that contributed to New Teacher Orientation Week. During last week's Orientation, new teachers experienced interactive professional learning aligned to Virginia Standards for Teachers. Not only did we focus on acclimating to NCPS' pedagogical practices, but teachers discovered the many treasures in Northampton County. I have included a few pictures and the Orientation schedule to highlight the excitement and knowledge gained from this experience. Check out the photos and brochure link below!
The support does not stop here! Our teachers continue to receive mentoring and guidance through the Assisting and Coaching Teachers (ACT) Program. I am proud and honored to support our teachers by designing and implementing this program not only to target the needs of our teachers but, ultimately, to support the needs of our NCPS students. This support includes ongoing coaching for instructional planning and lesson design, delivery, management, and much more. I am excited to continue this program to increase overall academic achievement and teacher retention rates at NCPS.
I would like to thank our Superintendent, Dr. Jaime Cole, and the School Board for their continuous support of the ACT Mentoring Program!
