MACHIPONGO, VA- Northampton County Public Schools (NCPS) proudly announces the recipients of the 2025-26 First Class Teacher of the Year and this year’s Support Employees of the Year. This annual recognition program honors staff members and a first-year teacher whose dedication and contributions truly make a difference, inspiring pride and appreciation within our community. These awards highlight the “unsung heroes” across our division - individuals who consistently go beyond their basic job duties with an unwavering commitment to student success, instructional innovation, and the division’s overall mission. Highly respected by their peers, these honorees maintain a positive influence that fosters a supportive and high-achieving environment for Northampton’s students.

Professional and Technical Support Employee of the Year: Brittany Annon, Northampton Middle School and Northampton High School
Service Support Employee of the Year: Melvin Burton, Northampton Middle School and Northampton High School
Instructional Support Employee of the Year: Amariah Nottingham, Occohannock Elementary School
Administrative Support Employee of the Year: Erin Staub, Northampton Middle School and Northampton High School
