MACHIPONGO, VA- Northampton County Public Schools (NCPS) is committed to the comprehensive well-being of every family in our community. We understand that life's challenges can affect everyone - students and parents. To ensure our families have the full spectrum of support they need, NCPS is actively promoting a wide range of free, confidential mental health and parenting resources designed to foster whole-family wellness.
NCPS recently partnered with Uwill, the leading student mental health and wellness solution, to provide students in grades 6-12 with free, immediate, and confidential access to support. Uwill offers teletherapy, a 24/7 crisis support line staffed by licensed counselors, and on-demand wellness programming covering topics such as yoga, mindfulness, and nutrition, ensuring immediate and reliable support in times of crisis.
To support the critical role of parents and guardians, NCPS continues to offer free access to ParentGuidance.org, a resource from the Cook Center for Human Connection. This platform provides confidential, professional support from licensed counselors to help families navigate common challenges and strengthen relationships through resources such as on-demand courses, monthly webinars, and 1:1 parent coaching, ensuring a high level of professional care and guidance.
“We know that when a student is struggling, the whole family is impacted,” said Dr. Lisa Martin, Superintendent of NCPS. “By providing free and dedicated resources like Uwill for students and ParentGuidance.org for parents, we are equipping the entire family unit with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges and build emotional resilience together.” NCPS wants to ensure that all families are aware of and able to use these services to build stronger connections and support the community's overall wellness.
