Dear Occohannock Elementary Families,

Welcome to Occohannock Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year! As the principal of OES, I look forward to working with you and your children this year. This is my 30th year in education, and I can honestly say that I love the work I do as much today as I did when I first started.  

As is tradition at NCPS, every school adopts a theme each year to guide and focus our journey together. This year, Occohannock Elementary is celebrating the incredible potential within every single child as we embrace our theme, “Show Them What You’re Worth,” inspired by Katy Perry’s uplifting hit song, Firework. As educators, we are deeply committed to your children—nurturing their curiosity, building their confidence, and equipping them with the knowledge and skills to keep soaring forward. In strong partnership with you, our goal is to inspire students who believe in their own unique talents and proudly bring their best selves to school every single day.
