Achieve Success At OES

Mission The Mission of Occohannock Elementary School is to foster the well being and development of each child. The Occohannock Elementary Staff believes that providing a foundation for continued developmental growth for all students is important. Students, staff members, parents, volunteers, and community members are all valued participants in insuring success.

Philosophy Education should develop each person's highest potential as a literate, thinking, ethical and self-confident citizen. Individual needs and abilities have to be considered in planning the curriculum of all the students. The staff believes that academic, physical and civic skills should be taught at all levels. They also believe that enrichment activities should be taught at all levels. They also believe enrichment activities should be provided to nurture self-discipline, cultural awareness and critical thinking.
